Summer Predictions 2010: What's all this about July 11?

Our new video is a brief but helpful summary of predictions for summer 2010. Various sources warn of 8.0+ earthquakes, explosions, and pollution of our resources that will lead to relocations and economic collapse. Many predictions swirl around July 11, 2010. We're getting close to this day that so many predictors are saying will bring a fearsome event or change to humanity. Looking at the world today, it's hard to imagine a war breaking out. Seems it would have to be more like a natural disaster, but it's hard to even imagine that. Our world is so peaceful for the most part. We have hot spots around the globe but in most parts of the developed world, unless you or someone you love is immediately involved in the conflict, the world seems to be at peace.

Wondering how the world could change so fast on this matter reminded me of my often wondering how the world could change so fast as to bring the climax of the ages according to some of the time tables out there, and that, of course, reminded me of the passage in I Thessalonians 5:3-11:

While people are saying, "There is peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

As the verse says, it seems the world is asleep, and a good number drunk with either the cares of the world or the desires of materialism, or both. On the other hand, many I know and respect in the body of Christ, who are awake and living as children of light and day, have a sense of these pleasant and easy times being short. As short as next Sunday? No one is saying that, but no one would rule it out, either. Let's continue to pray for understanding and for the souls of the lost, and to practice the admonition of the apostle Paul to "encourage one another and build one another up" in all ways and at all times, until we are with Him and perfected for all eternity.

July 11 date is gaining a lot of traction -- maybe it's just fear of the eclipse rooted in our ancient ancestral memories, or maybe it is so heavy we're getting hints of it in our subconscious awareness. One thing to think about is that they're going to attempt to cap the well this weekend. Even if it is reported to go well, don't necessarily believe it. They've lied before, and BP is controlling the media down there with an iron fist. If it doesn't go well, this could be the kick off of a July 11 event that plays out long and slow over the rest of summer.

Holding my breath

If that oil disaster warning stuff is true, we're screwed. Nothing to do but watch and wait. Feel so helpless. Could be what pushes us toward 2012 disasters and just the begining.

Even if they get the cap on this weekend, that doesn't change what has happened on/in the ocean floor, or what is being released into the air, or the potential for that deposit of methane to cause huge problems. Damage has been done. The ramifications from that damage will hang in the air -- perhaps quite literally -- for a long time to come. We will have to deal with that. Individuals, governments will have to deal with it. I pray they deal ethically with the residents. Heed the warning given by Dr. Herndon for folks in the GOM oil coast area to watch local officials -- if you notice that they're all taking vacation at once, maybe you want to take one, too!
