The (basic) doctrine of the Trinity states:
* There is one and only one God.
* God eternally exists in three distinct persons.
* The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God.
* The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Father, the Father is not the Spirit, etc.
